Family-Friendly Experiences in Kazakhstan

If you're traveling to Kazakhstan with kids, you’re in for some surprisingly fun options beyond the usual sightseeing. Take Almaty, for example , the Central Park has a charming little amusement area, and the Kok Tobe hill is a real treat with its cable car and playgrounds. Kids love the view and, not gonna lie, adults do too.

And then there’s the EcoPark in Astana (now Nur-Sultan). It’s a great place to see native animals and stretch those little legs. The planetarium there often runs shows that really catch the attention of children and adults alike. Plus, springtime visits are lovely when the tulips paint the city in color.

If your family loves the outdoors, the Burabay National Park offers calm lakes and nature trails that are manageable for little hikers. On the way there, stop by local picnic spots where you can grill some shashlik , the kids may not be big fans of the meat, but the fresh bread and salads usually win them over.

A local tip: when exploring city playgrounds, check out Dostyk Plaza in Almaty. It's got indoor amusement areas and cafes that usually have kid-friendly menus. And try to avoid weekends for a less crowded experience. Kazakhstan offers family time that feels both relaxed and a bit adventurous, if you ask me.
