GENATSVALE

Kazakhstan

Georgian cuisine

History tells us that the Soviet Union wound up operations in 1991, but today, much of the same vast geographical area has us know that the people who live here still maintain close cultural and economic ties. Kazakhstan, as our website is proud to say, is a multi-ethnic republic in which over 150 peoples live together in harmony, respecting each other's ideals and customs. Georgia, another former Soviet state located many miles to the west is itself rich in cultural and culinary heritage. Almaty and the Genatsvale Restaurant wish to invite you to experience the diversity of this great city, here presented in the form of some fantastic Georgian cuisine.

Those who've tried Georgian food are said to want it again and again. Genatsvale is keen to show you why. Here they gather together all the very best dishes. There is khachapuri, suluguni, chakhokhbili fragrant and rich kharcho. Now these may not mean a lot to you right now, but taking the advice of the staff will help you choose the dish for you from these and many other incredibly tasty delicacies of that tradition. When it comes to Almaty, the diversity of Georgia can be found in few places. In this very establishment you will enjoy a journey into the world of Georgian family traditions. A treat awaits the belly of anybody, be they a discerning gourmet, or just a lover of feasting.

Interestingly, it shares a building with the classy Russian joint Namedni. Open from 12:00 pm till 12:00 am, this new establishment is privy to all the secrets of its Georgian hosts. As in their own sacred region, they use nothing but fresh ingredients, seasoning and preparing them with a great passion for the art of cooking. This personal touch adds to the pleasure for anybody here to eat perhaps a corporate dinner, or something more romantic.

The cozy interior of the restaurant is perfect for leisurely meetings or intimate conversations. A great room and a summer terrace can accommodate many visitors who will also appreciate the interior, designed in classical style. This is another of the best traditions of Georgian culture. The atmosphere is unique and produced by hundreds of different subtle details to which staff have given their utmost attention. Symbols of home comfort have been specially brought from Georgian houses themselves. The carpets, and many of the ornaments evoke feelings of being in Georgia, amazingly even among those who have never had the pleasure.
