Join us for an unforgettable adventure to Big Almaty Lake — one of the most captivating natural gems of the Ile-Alatau National Park and a “must-see” near Almaty. Car Option: Enjoy a comfortable transfer from your hotel straight to the lake. Spend 60 minutes at this stunning alpine spot, then return to your hotel (or another place in the city if you prefer). This is the perfect choice if you want to experience the beauty of the lake without a challenging climb. Hiking Option (for experienced and fit hikers): Take on a 14 km trail in mountain conditions, climbing to 2,511 m. Along the way, you’ll enjoy breathtaking views from two panoramic viewpoints — the main one and a spot with a traditional Kazakh Altybakan swing — before descending through the picturesque Moon Valley. The hike takes 2–3 hours up, with about 2 hours at the lake, and then a return trek. If you are not in good physical shape, we recommend the car option instead. Hiking boots are required; trekking poles and raincoats are provided. Surrounded by the mighty ridges of the Zailiyskiy Alatau, crystal-clear mountain air, and serene alpine landscapes, this is a day for movement, discovery, and complete rejuvenation far from the city rush. Included: hotel pick-up and transfer, guide service, cozy picnic stop (for hiking option). Bring with you: sturdy trekking shoes, water, light snack.
