Kolsay and Kaindy Lakes along with Charyn Canyon are notable destinations in the Almaty region covered in this tour. You will explore the Castle Valley within Charyn Canyon, known for its rock formations and sandy landscapes.
A few hours from the canyon you will reach the Alatau Mountains, referred to as Kazakhstani Switzerland. Here, short trekking routes offer access to pristine nature and the scenic Kolsay Lakes.
Close to Kolsay, Kaindy Lake awaits, a unique body of water formed by an earthquake that blocked a river, submerging a forest with treetops protruding above the surface, creating an uncommon sight worldwide.
Itinerary
- Day 1:
- 8:00 am: Departure from Almaty (3 hour drive to Charyn Canyon)
- 11:00 am: Arrival at Charyn Canyon, 2 hours trekking and photos
- 2:00 pm: Check-in and lunch at Satty Village
- 4:00 pm: Visit Kolsay Lake, 2 hours hiking, horse riding, and photo opportunities
- 7:00 pm: Return to Satty Village for dinner and free time
- Day 2:
