Your day begins with an early morning departure from Almaty and a drive to Basshy village, the gateway to Altyn-Emel National Park. After purchasing your park tickets, continue by 4WD vehicle toward the Aktau Mountains. The journey takes you deep into one of Kazakhstan's most remarkable natural areas, where colorful rock formations and dramatic desert landscapes create an unforgettable setting.
Explore the Aktau Mountains with your guide and learn about the geological history, wildlife and legends of the region. The area is famous for its unusual white, red and orange formations, shaped by millions of years of natural processes. The region is also known for important paleontological discoveries, including fossils of animals that lived here around 25–30 million years ago.
Continue to the nearby Katutau Mountains, another spectacular area of Altyn-Emel. Explore the rugged volcanic-looking landscapes and unusual rock formations while your guide shares interesting facts about the national park and its natural history.
