Description
Day 1 begins with meeting instructors and horses at the ranch, followed by a horseback ride across the steppe and a traditional lunch. Visit the Kabanbai Batyr Mausoleum in the afternoon, then finish the day with dinner and a sauna session.
On day 2, start with feeding and grooming horses. Ride along the Nura River, return for lunch, then explore the river landscape before a sunset ride and sauna.
Day 3 includes a dawn ride to herd young mares, lunch, and helping herd horses back to the ranch. In the evening, join a cooking class on manty (steamed dumplings) and share tea with fellow guests.
Day 4 features a long-distance trek across the steppe and an evening visit to Astana’s National Museum and architectural sites on the city’s left bank.
On day 5, herd horses and cows with local herders, learn to milk mares and make kumis (fermented mare’s milk). After lunch, explore Astana’s right bank including Soviet-era architecture and markets, then visit a master jeweler. Also explore the Hazrat Sultan Mosque.
Day 6 offers morning equestrian training, a lesson in making kaymak (creamy dairy spread), and viewing the traditional game kokpar. Evening activities include visits to the Palace of Peace and Reconciliation, artisan boutiques, and an opera performance.
Day 7 focuses on advanced riding at the hippodrome, herding livestock on the steppe, and an evening cooking class for lagman (hand-pulled noodles) followed by a communal dinner.
