The Kasteev Museum of Arts established in 1935 represents the largest art gallery in the country and it contains more than 20,000 works of artists from Kazakhstan, Russia, Western Europe and Asia. The extensive collection of ancient and modern Kazakh art includes paintings, graphics, sculptures and applied arts dating from ancient times to the present.
