Description
Day 1: Ust-Kamenogorsk
Arrive in Ust-Kamenogorsk and check in to your hotel. Visit the Gold of Altai exhibition at the Ust-Kamenogorsk Museum of History and Local Lore. Then, take a river cruise on the Irtysh to the confluence of two rivers.
Next, enjoy a tour of the “Ostrov” Residence with Mukhtar Toi. Finish the day with a gastro dinner of modern Kazakh cuisine created specially for this event by top chefs.
Day 2: Bukhtarma Sea
After breakfast, drive along the mountain serpentines of East Kazakhstan to the Bukhtarma Hydroelectric Station, the largest HPP in Kazakhstan. Begin your sea cruise across the Bukhtarma Sea and arrive at the uninhabited Goose Island.
Relax on the beach with campfire-style meals and enjoy a wood-fired sauna onboard the river vessel. Spend the night in cabins on the floating pier and the ship.
Day 3: Sunrise — Skaly
Continue your maritime voyage to the stylish base “Sunrise — Skaly.” Transfer and check in to your accommodation with fresh white linens, towels, and hot showers. Enjoy a comfortable cottage-style seaside rest.
Day 4: Shyngystai and Topkaiyng
Continue your Altai trip with a 6-hour drive. Learn about the fascinating first Kazakh-Russian school in Shyngystai, the birthplace of the famous writer Oralkhan Bókei. Discover the amazing traditions of the Qaratai El, a small Kazakh clan deeply connected with the ancient and modern Altai through history and daily culture.
Visit the famous aromatic kumys made from mountain herbs in Topkaiyng. Arrive at the base in the heart of the mountainous beauty of Katon on the shore of Rakhman Lake.
Day 5: Rakhmany
Embark on a powerful mountain trek to the Radostnyi Pass overlooking the main peak of the Altai Mountains, Belukha (Muztau). After a 4-hour hike, enjoy a hot lunch with a nomadic twist. Spend time at one of the most beautiful taiga lakes in Kazakhstan, rich with legendary history.
Try SUP boarding on an American board or relax in hot radon baths in open springs. Enjoy fine dining by Vostok-Zapad at an altitude of 1760 meters, with traditional Kazakh cuisine by the chef in high-mountain fir surroundings.
Day 6: Berel Burial Mounds
Return to the city in off-road vehicles. Visit the famous Berel burial mounds and learn about the archaeology of nomadic cultures. Arrive at the hotel in Ust-Kamenogorsk and enjoy a gastro dinner of European cuisine with Siberian and Kazakh elements.
Day 7: Departure
Enjoy an English breakfast with a Kazakh twist before departing. Receive tour video footage from the ground and from the air.
