Description
Day 1: Issyk Lake & Turgen Gorge
Begin your adventure with a morning visit to Issyk Lake, an alpine jewel surrounded by towering peaks. Take a scenic drive through the stunning Turgen Gorge, famous for its waterfalls and wildlife.
Embark on a moderate hike to Bear Waterfall (Medvezhy) with opportunities for photography. Try catch-and-release fishing at a local trout farm with a fresh trout lunch. Spend the night in a comfortable guesthouse in Turgen village.
Day 2: Assy Plateau & Charyn Canyon
Depart early to witness the spectacular sunrise over Assy Plateau (2,600m). Visit the high-altitude Assy Observatory for panoramic views and drone photography.
Take a scenic drive toward the magnificent Charyn Canyon, often called the 'Grand Canyon of Asia.' Continue to Saty village, the gateway to the Kolsai Lakes, and spend the night in a traditional guesthouse.
Day 3: Kolsai & Kaindy Lakes
In the morning, head to Lower Kolsai Lake, the 'Pearl of the Northern Tien Shan.' Enjoy an easy lakeside hike with stunning reflections of surrounding pine forests and mountains.
Transfer to the surreal Kaindy Lake, famous for its sunken forest of spruce trees. Go on a short trek around the lake, perfect for photography enthusiasts. Return to Saty village for a second night in the guesthouse.
Day 4: Altyn-Emel - Singing Dune
Depart early to Altyn-Emel National Park. Visit the famous 150-meter 'Singing' Sand Dune, where the sand produces musical sounds when dry. Climb the dune for breathtaking views of the surrounding desert landscape.
Have lunch in Basshi village with local cuisine. Witness the magical sunset on the dune, a photographer's dream. Spend the night in Basshi village.
Day 5: Aktau & Katutau 'Moon' Mountains
In the morning, drive to the multicolored Aktau Mountains, a geological wonder with rainbow layers. Explore the rugged Katutau Mountains, sculpted by wind and time.
Both ranges offer otherworldly landscapes perfect for exploration. Enjoy a farewell lunch in Basshi village with traditional Kazakh dishes. Return to Almaty, where your tour ends with drop-off at your hotel.
