The rock paintings of Tamgaly-Tas are located in the picturesque valley of the Ili River, northwest of the city of Kapchagay in the Almaty region. In spring, the surroundings take on a bright red hue due to the blooming poppies. Next to the drawings is a rocky range where rescuers and climbers train in rock climbing. The city of nomads, located on the other side of the Ili, served as the scenery for the films 'Nomads' and 'Night Watch'. It is recommended to devote enough time to study the rock paintings of Tamgaly-Tas and then visit the City of Nomads on the opposite bank of the Ili River.
